They couldn’t intimidate him.
They couldn’t outthink him.
They couldn’t defeat him.
So, they killed him.
That’s the cold truth of why Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was murdered at a political event in Utah last Wednesday.
As of this writing, we now know that it was one deranged individual who killed Kirk, Tyler Robinson.
But, I began with “they” for reasons that are obvious to anyone of sound mind and reason that has watched politics devolve into literal blood sports over the years.
While it’s true that one person is solely responsible for Kirk’s murder, it did not occur in a vacuum.
That’s the big lie of this whole tragic scenario and the one that the political left so desperately want us to believe.
There’s a lot of nonsense and an open misinformation campaign being waged in real time to obscure the reality of why Kirk was assassinated and what forces are responsible for it.
I’m not going to bury the lead.
Despite what you’ve heard, Robinson was a far left activist who assassinated Kirk for purely political purposes. We know from first hand accounts from his family and students that he is not only politically distinct from his family, he fought with them about Kirk and his influence. He also has a trans identifying lover that is telling law enforcement about their involvement and the kind of guy he is.
Now I know what you’ve heard from CNN, MSNBC and what you’re undoubtedly still reading from your dishonest leftist friends on social media.
We’re supposed to believe that a white kid from a middle-class Republican family of Trump supporters went rogue and decided to kill one of the brightest, youngest and most effective advocates for the Republican cause in the country...because Kirk wasn’t right wing enough.
Now if that sounds ridiculous and completely at odds with common sense, that’s because it is.
Kirk was killed because we have lived for years under a radical left wing orthodoxy that has, in the ultimate hubris, rejected objective truth, smeared traditional morals and warped the minds of young people into denying reality and destroying the lives of those that refuse to play along with delusion.
Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying and is doing everything in their power to obscure the central role that leftist philosophy has had in sowing evil, creating divisions between friends and families and offering violence and death as a final solution to those you cannot defeat in open debate.
Don’t be gaslit by anything you’ve heard or seen over that last few days.
When people tell you that assigning blame to both sides is the answer, or offers generic and useless platitudes about ‘coming together’ for the sake of the country, disregard them, utterly.
When people like Jimmy Kimmel and CNN panelists talk about how divisive it is that President Trump blamed the radical left as being responsible for Kirk’s murder, don’t let them get away with it.
Trump is 100 percent correct in citing the violent left as the primary architects of Kirk’s killing.
Don’t let anyone tell you that the way Trump speaks or his diagnosis of the political reality of Kirk’s murder is a problem.
Donald Trump would never have been elected president in the first place if the left wing in this country hadn’t taken over all of our institutions and made the other half of America desperate enough to vote for a reality TV show star to do something about it.
The rise in left wing cultural and political influence and their utterly unchecked assault on traditional norms directly led to Trump’s ascent. Without them, Trump is nothing and he would have remained a political nothing if the far left wing of this country had only moderate influence.
But this column isn’t about Trump. He’s only a byproduct of the real menace that we’ve been locked in a struggle with for decades for control of the America’s future and the future of Western civilization as a whole.
This column is about how the worst of the left wing in the western world has become mainstream.
It’s about how your once moderate friends and neighbors have succumbed to the wickedness of the worst impulses of a malevolent philosophy.
It’s about how the sensible and moral among us can no longer make excuses for the people we know in our lives that are openly celebrating a man’s public assassination not even an hour after he expired.
Most importantly, it’s about what we do about the evil we’re surrounded by and what comes next.
As a philosophy, leftism is without a doubt, the most vile and destructive force in the western world today.
It slithers in and takes the place of classical liberalism and puppets its corpse as the same philosophy, but it isn’t.
In these columns, I almost never identify the enemies of liberty as liberals.
Neither did Charlie Kirk, because he understood that leftism is the cancer that masquerades as the philosophy it infiltrated and destroyed.
It pretends to be tolerant, it pretends to love the downtrodden and worst of all, it warps the unsuspecting masses into adopting it and fooling them into thinking that they’re warriors for kindness, the sanctity of human life and the protectors of the planet.
In practice, none of this is true.
In practice, it divorces people from common sense, love for their fellow man and strips them of basic human decency.
It makes people celebrate evil and call it good.
It makes people watch a man be killed and film themselves jumping for joy and dancing on social media.
Worse, it turns ideological opponents into evil caricatures of themselves and assigns sins to them that they never committed.
And if you haven’t been paying attention, being an average person with center right beliefs is a sin.
All of the nonsense you’re hearing about how hateful and wicked Kirk was is nonsense. Every bit of it.
Kirk espoused ordinary and reasonable milquetoast Republican positions that have been around for over 100 years.
What that means is, that if you hold those ordinary Republican views, even if you’re not a Republican yourself, they want you dead, too.
Radical leftists and activists don’t differentiate between centrists, feminists, libertarians or even the blue dog Democrat positions of yesteryear.
If you’re not a radical leftist yourself, willing to accept any new rule or contradictory standard the leftist mob embraces at any moment, you’re a threat and worth killing.
And here’s the tough part and a warning. And I don’t write this lightly.
Truly, pay attention to the people on your social media feeds who are making light of Kirk’s death.
Shitposting from sock and meme accounts is one thing, but when you see the people you know in real life, celebrating the murder of a political figure they disagree with, or purposly taking his quotes out of context to try and shame him in death, you’d better pay attention.
Because make no mistake, they hated Charlie because of his beliefs and his stances. And if you share any of those beliefs, there’s a good chance they quietly hate you for the same reasons.
I applaud the handful of liberal friends on my feed that had the humanity to rebuke the sheer evil on display and maintain their civility despite having their own gripes with Kirk and the right wing in general.
Your decency is noted and appreciated and I wrote as much to you in public.
Because, the sheer amount of ghouls on my timeline that approved and celebrated his murder has been disappointing and infuriating at best and utterly horrifying at worst.
I’m no Charlie Kirk, not by a long shot. We’re not even really in the same business. But I do engage in political commentary on a weekly basis and there are scores of people that don't like it...
