Difficulties continued for the Washington County Panthers Boys Varsity team as they waged valiant but losing battles against the Perquimans Pirates and the Bertie Falcons team last week.
The varsity boys traveled alongside their female counterparts to meet the Pirates at their home. At the outset, the Panthers edged out the Pirates team, winning the first quarter by a score of 12–14. The second quarter would continue to be just as hard fought as the Perquimans Pirates just managed to slip by the Panthers by a
score of 24–23. The third quarter would represent a shifting of the tie yet again as the Panthers once again slipped by the Pirates and secured a score of 37–39...
