CTE store grand opening

The Career and Technical Education Department at Washington County High School will hold the ribbon-cutting and preview of the CTE Marketplace on at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, just before the high school’s Open House!

 

The CTE Marketplace is a student-run enterprise where high-achieving CTE completers will gain real-world work experience, earn a stipend and internship credit, and develop the skills that will prepare them for success beyond high school.

Washington County High School is at 3177 US 64, Plymouth.

Resiliency open house

CRESWELL — An open house meeting about Town of Creswell Resilience projects will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Creswell Fire Station, 109 W. Main St., Creswell. Drop in to learn about ongoing town projects includ ing the stormwater management project, drinking water and wastewater assessment and the Creswell community vision plan. The event will include a presentation and ques tion-and-answer session starting at 11:30 a.m. during lunch. An open house and opportunity to give feed back will start at 12:30 p.m. Food will be provided while supplies last.

Survey feedback needed

Each year, Disability Rights North Carolina (DRNC) asks people with disabilities, their families, and other community members to help shape our work by filling out a short survey. Your feedback helps us understand which legal issues are most urgent and important to the disability community. Singers needed

CRESWELL — Philippi Church of Christ, 74 Old Cherry Road, Creswell, will be preparing a Christmas Cantata under the direction of Tina Woodley Broom. You do not have to be a member of Philippi to participate. Practice begins the first week of September and will be one night a week, with additional practices as needed. Performances will be Dec. 4 and Dec. 6.
