NERSBA OKs expansion into clay shooting league

NERSBA Early College scholars are on the cusp of being able to hone their competitive shooting skills, following the approval of the school’s entry into the USA High School Clay Target league.

During NERSBA’s May Board of Directors meeting, Troy Respess asked administrators to allow its scholars to participate in the national clay target-shooting program.

Specifically, that request is to allow members of the school’s existing Hunter and Safety team to extend their season and participate in the recreational rigors of the league.

The request was a personal one for Respess, who previously took over the coaching of the school’s Hunter and Safety team following the departure of its previous leadership. Determined

to “not let the program die if it was up to him” Respess took the reins and has been a leading force in the school’s outdoor safety and recreation instruction...
