Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Todd Davis

Jeffrey “Jeff” Todd Davis, of Roper, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on September 10, 202,5 at the age of 59.

Born on April 17, 1966, Jeff was the oldest child and only son of Harry Davis and the late Pat Davis of Roper.

Jeff was an all-around country boy who loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed time on his boat, whether it was lounging with family and friends on the Albemarle Sound or fishing on the Roanoke River, the Albemarle Sound or Oregon Inlet. His cooler was always full of the day’s catch that would evoke a mixture of respect and envy.

Jeff was an avid hunter as well, and he knew how to turn a successful hunt into a delicious meal. He shared with others his knowledge of boats, rods, reels, bait, water temperature, tide changes, wind conditions, guns, deer stands and skill.

He enjoyed fast cars, big trucks and four-wheelers, and outracing everyone to lead the convoy.

In addition to his father, Harry, and life partner, Betsy Donovan, Jeff is survived by his dedicated wife of 37 years, Danita; two sons, Josh Davis (wife Intisar) and Austin Davis (wife Taylor); three granddaughters, Gabby Davis, Arianna Davis and Aubree Davis; and one great grandson, Amori Davis. Jeff also has a sister, Sherry Davis Tanner (husband Todd and son Jude) with whom he shared a unique bond.

He was predeceased by his mother, Pat Davis; his mother-in-law, Loretta Lupton; maternal grandparents, Velna and Walter Spruill; and paternal grandparents, Annie and Ernie Davis.

A Celebration of Life service was held at the Maitland Funeral Home Chapel (306 Latham Avenue, Plymouth, North Carolina) on September 13, 2025, with visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
