A third Washington County proposal for $15.5 million in grant funding for athletic facilities at the new consolidated school is in the hands of North Carolina’s Department of Public Instruction.

County Commission- ers signed off on the grant application — that had an October 3 deadline for submission — in a special meeting Monday, September 29.

Commissioners also approved change orders that impose slight cost in- creases on the county’s construction of an EMTOC facility and an ongoing obstruction removal project at Plymouth Municipal Airport.
