Averal Clifton Ambrose

Creswell resident Averal Clifton Ambrose, 91, died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at her residence.

Stewart Woodley officiated a service Saturday, October 11, at Maitland Funeral Home in Creswell.

The family received friends prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home Creswell.

 

Frances VanEpps

Frances Ann (Alexander) VanEpps, born November 17, 1935 in Plymouth, to Raymond and Martha (Overton) Alexander, passed away peacefully at home in Dansville, Michigan with her husband of 70 years, Bill, by her side. 

It gives the family comfort to know she is reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, namely her parents and her siblings, Geneva Humphreys, Helen Frost and Ruth Miller.

James ‘Jimmy’ Jackson

James "Jimmy" Jackson, 88, of Plymouth, died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at ECU Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, surrounded by his family.

Reverend Vickie Woolard will officiate a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, October 17, at Plymouth United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.

 

Evelyn Ann Bland

Plymouth resident Evelyn Ann Bland, 77, died Friday, October 10, 2025, at her home.

Paul Harrington officiated a service Tuesday, October 14, at Plymouth First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.

The family received friends in the church sanctuary prior to the service and other times at the residence.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.

 

Frances McCracken Ange

May 24, 1936 - October 6, 2025

Mary Frances McCracken Ange, 89, of Plymouth, died Monday morning, October 25, 2025, in Raleigh.

Mrs. Ange was the daughter of the late Donald Toler and Ruby Taylor McCracken. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Herbert Ange, and her son, Ronald Keith Ange.

Mrs. Ange was a member of the Plymouth Lioness Club, a member of First Christian Church and a Deacon. She was named Volunteer of the Year for 2003 of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary; she had been a member of the Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years.

Mrs. Ange is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Carolyn Ange of Morehead City; daughter and son-in-law, Karen A. and Chuck Blalock of Raleigh; grandchildren, Walt Ange and wife, Haylee, of Colorado, Neil Ange of Morehead City, Chase Blalock and wife, Laura, of Hickory and Melissa B. Martin and husband, Justin, of Raleigh; and seven great-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at the Windley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, P.O. Box 97, Plymouth, NC 27962.
