In a rapid-fire four-minute rundown to county commissioners last week, a Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) vice-president shone the spotlight on a series of recent advancements at the Plymouth hospital.
Speaking in the public comment portion of the monthly commissioner meeting Monday, October 6, Business Development and Business Affairs VP Bruce Patterson ticked off a number of positive developments — including the “greatest” news, that the hospital was no longer embroiled in Chapter 11 bankruptcy as of September 23.
“We are completely out of Chapter 11 and on solid plan,” Patterson told commissioners after pointing to advances such as the addition of medical providers and patient services, a growing number of in-patients at the facility, a new affiliation with Duke University and new agreements with local schools and DOT for physicals and drug testing.
Patterson’s checklist provided to the county includes:
