Gerry Maddox, playing acoustic, classic rock and coastal (beach) music, is on tap for the November 7, First Friday event, sponsored this month by Mama’s Pizza.

Set to take the stage from 6-8 p.m., the event will be held on Washington Street at the Bear Towne Market or at the Riverview Café downtown on Water Street if there is inclement weather.

Maddox shares, “I play classic rock, some Jimmy Buffet, some reggae and some pop. Music has always been a part of my life. A lot of influence came from my family. My grandfather played several instruments and sang. There was often music in my house. I grew up with much variety, including Elvis, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, the Everly Brothers and Jerry Lee Lewis. Though I have always had a love of music, it was kind of a second job, if you will. Now I am retired from my day job. Music is now my job. Often I get to perform five or six times a month...”
