A zoning change is coming down the pipeline for a portion of the 12-acre parcel where construction of a Washington County emergency training and operations center (EMTOC) is well under way in Plymouth.
In action Monday, November 24, the Town of Plymouth’s planning board recommended a zoning request that designates the entire parcel as C-2 property, a designation that includes “governmental services” as a permitted use.
The planning board’s recommendation now goes before Plymouth Town Council for consideration for approval. Meanwhile, construction continues at the three-acre parcel that fronts US Hwy 64 and is currently zoned C-2.
Presently, 9.15 acres of the plot is zoned R-20, or single-family residential, while the portion adjacent to the highway where construction is underway is C-2, or Neighborhood Business...
