Hundreds of Washington County residents flocked to a makeshift mobile food delivery arranged in Plymouth last week to help address the holiday food void fueled, in part, by the abrupt eviction of the longstanding local food pantry by Plymouth’s Town Council in November.
Vehicles lined up at the VFW facility on Old Roper Road as early as 7 a.m., Tuesday, December 9; by the time a box truck from the Food Bank of the Albemarle rolled in about 10 a.m., there were thankful folks waiting in 50 vehicles lined up along the roadway.
