United Full Gospel gets lease for ousted food pantry property

In a contentious discussion and a resulting split vote, Plymouth Town Council installed a new tenant at the Washington Street site where the former operator distributed food for more than 25 years.

Councilwomen Donsenia Teel and Kim Williams voted to approve United Full Gospel Revival Center as the new occupant, while Micah Weathersbee and Jerry Rhodes voted against the choice. Mayor Crystal Davis swiftly announced her support for selection of the church, making the vote 3-2 in favor.

Absent from the session were Ward Two Councilman Danny Wobbleton and Third Ward representative Steven Brown, who resigned his seat earlier in the meeting for unexplained reasons...
