To educate local leaders and residents about successfully integrating utility-scale solar into their community’s energy mix, the Center for Energy Education (C4EE) will host a workshop on Thursday, March 5, to outline processes and trends of utility-scale solar projects.
Join C4EE for a free comprehensive and engaging workshop designed for newly elected and current public officials, local leaders, municipal representatives and residents, 6-7:30 p.m. at 37 East Mill Pond Road in Roper.
The workshop equips participants with essential knowledge about utility-scale solar projects, economic impacts they bring and strategies for successful community integration.
C4EE invites elected officials, community leaders and the public to its information session.
The workshop provides a detailed framework of a utility-scale solar project — from land acquisition, siting, permitting, installation, decommissioning and beyond — and its range of economic impacts, including workforce development opportunities, for a rural community.
Participants gain essential insights and learn strategies to navigate steps toward successful energy collaborations in rural communities.
Dinner will be provided. To attend, call (252) 541-3004.
This event is free and open to the public.
“C4EE strives to exceed the educational expectations of the audiences we serve, from public officials and community leaders to the general public, as we share fact-based information about the utility-scale solar industry and its positive effects in our local rural communities,” Mozine Lowe, executive director of C4EE says. “This opportunity will help empower community leaders with clean energy knowledge.”
