Plymouth’s new fire apparatus arrived in town last week and was on display briefly at the Roanoke River Lighthouse Thursday, April 2. The unit is a used 2017 Pierce Enforcer equipment truck, purchased at a price of $625,000 from an Alabama company to replace the PFD’s aging unit. The apparatus arrived in Plymouth about 2 a.m., April 2, with a team from the Alabama company at the helm. PFD Chief Josh Swain says the unit will go into service in coming weeks after ancillary equipment is installed. (Staff photo by Dale Heberlig)
