Joseph Paul Lancaster

December 4, 1949 – July 24, 2026

Joseph Paul Lancaster, 76, of Creswell, NC, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Born on December 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Charlie H. Lancaster, Sr., and Vera Mae Snell Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie L. Perry and Kay L. Paul. Paul was a long-distance truck driver, and later he went to work at Weyer haeuser/ Domtar until he retired. He was a member of Philippi Church of Christ.

Paul was a loving, caring person who never saw a stranger. He loved his family dearly.

Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Elaine Woodley Lancaster; his two sons, William “Bill” Lancaster and wife Tempie, Charlie Lancaster and wife Rebecca; a brother, Charlie H. Lancaster (Su sie); grandchildren, Brit tany Lancaster (Bennett), Emily James (Trent), Anthony Lancaster (Grace), Ethan Lancaster; great-grandchild, Hudson Joseph Lancaster.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Philippi Church of Christ with Benj Nichols officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family received friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the church from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Flowers are welcome, or a donation may be made to Philippi Church of Christ, 73 Old Cherry Road, Creswell, NC 27928.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.

Lewis Rayburn Styons

Lewis Rayburn Styons, 83, of Tarboro, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 12, 1942, Ray was the son of the late Be jamin Frank lin Styons and Marjorie Anne Mizelle Styons.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Styons and Wayne Styons; sister, Anne Edwards; and son-in-law, David Pratt.

Ray retired from Weyerhaeuser after 38 years as a millwright.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kitty Brown Styons of Tarboro; son, Lewis Rayburn Styons Jr. (Stephanie) of Hamp stead; daughters, Melo nie Styons Pratt of Rocky Mount and Fran Styons Watson (Lee) of Green ville; brothers, Turner Styons of Georgia and Charles Styons of Green ville; sister, Jane Hill of Raleigh; and grandchil dren, Lily Styons, Shane Styons, Max Styons, Lee Watson, and Parker Watson.

A graveside service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Plymouth with Jimmy Elks officiating on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Grace Episcopal Church Parish Hall, located across the street from the church.

In lieu of flowers dona tions may be made to First Christian Church, 509 E. Main St., Plymouth, NC 27962 or Grace Episcopal Church, 106 Madison St., Plymouth, NC 27962.

Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.

 

Carolyn Louise (Rouson) Davis

Ms. Carolyn Louise (Rouson) Davis, 84, of Plymouth, NC, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Surrounded by the legacy of a life well-lived, Ms. Davis leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A Celebration of Life service honoring her life and legacy was held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Riverside Baptist Church, located at 109 Pettigrew Dr., Plymouth, NC 27962.

A walk through viewing took place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorraine (Jones) Williams

Ms. Lorraine (Jones) Williams, 70, of Plymouth, North Carolina peaceful ly transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Ms. Williams leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Memorial Service celebrating honoring her life and legacy was held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Temple of Christ Church, located at 528 Wilson St., Plymouth, NC 27962.

This service will be a time of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for the impact she made throughout her life.
