HYDE COUNTY — A Hyde County man with a long record of commu nity service has received North Carolina’s highest award for volunteer service.

Michael Adams, of Englehard, was among the recipients of the 2026 Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service, presented recently during a ceremony at the North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh.
