Minister Sammy Fields will officiate a service at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ellis Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and other times at the home of her sister, Doris Barnes, 405 Brinkley Avenue, Plymouth.

Martha L. Hyman
Plymouth resident Martha L. Hyman died Tuesday, August 6, 2019. She was 96.
Bishop Stanley Hichs Sr. served as eulogist with Reverend Dr. General James officiating a service Sunday, August 11, at Spring Green Church of Christ Disciples of Christ. Burial followed in Ellis Lee Cemetery.
Toodle’s Funeral Home Plymouth was in charge of arrangements.
Emma Louise Leigh
Emma Louise Leigh, 87, of Roper, died Thursday, August 1, 2019.
Elder Ronnie Norman officiated a service on Wednesday, August 7, at St. Mary’s Church of Christ. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Mark Scott ‘Scottie’ McDonald
Mark Scott “Scottie” McDonald, 55, of Roper, died Monday, August 5, 2019, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
Born May 2, 1964, in Washington County, he was the son of Theresa Phelps McDonald, who survives.
Scottie was a millwright and member of Roper Volunteer Fire Department for more than 29 years until his retirement. He also was a lifelong member of Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church.
His family includes his mother, Theresa Phelps McDonald of Roper; a daughter, Carlene Joy McDonald of Roper; sisters, Terry Taylor and husband, Richard, of Roper, Sherry Trantham and husband, Alan, of Clyde, Mary Ellen Davenport of Roper, and Nan Ash of Clarkston, WA; and a brother, Eddie McDonald and wife, Tammy, of Roper.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tommy Oliver, was held Thursday, August 8, at Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends on Wednesday, August 7, at Roper Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the residence.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Roper resident Linda Trumps died Saturday, July 27, 2019. She was 66.
There is currently no service planned.
