In the aftermath of the Juneteenth holiday, a group of residents and county officials put on their walking shoes, joining members of the Washington County African American Museum for a guided tour of the town of Roper.
Led by Museum curator Rosa Brown, the walking tour took participants across roughly a mile of Roper’s most recognizable locations, providing commentary and interesting facts along the way.
Following some early morning hobnobbing and some time spent admiring the historical booths set up inside the museum, Brown took the megaphone in hand and summoned the walkers outside of the building.
