Businesses open their doors in downtown Plymouth

Two new businesses officially opened their doors along Washington Street Friday afternoon, September 26, signaling the beginning of new shopping opportunities for Plymouth residents.

The Roanoke Heron Specialty Shops is a home decor and gift shop with a number of trinkets and interesting items.

Owned and operated primarily by Vicki Stotesbury, the 117B Washington Street Heron is an outlet that also has space avail- able for other artisans to offer a greater array of products.

According to Stotesbury, the business has partnered with 18 vendors and has room for several more to join.

“The goal is to shoot for as much variety as possible,” Stotesbury says. “Variety is king and that’s one of the things that we’re keeping in mind as we bring people in to do business.”

According to Stotesbury, Friday’s opening day has been more than 20 years in the making and the culmination of years of personal business experience.
