Creswell’s Main Street came alive Saturday morning as Tracy Norman and her team of volunteers handed out a host of frozen turkeys for local families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Operating under the moniker of ‘Tracy Cares,’ the morning turkey drive exceeded the group’s expectations, with scores of turkeys and additional gift cards being completely given away within an hour and a half of operation.
It just the kind of success that Norman had hoped to achieve as part of her first major effort to fulfill a long time dream of giving back to her hometown.
“I’ve been away for a while but I always wanted to come back and do something for everyone here,” she says. “I feel like it was put on my heart to do this. There’s just so much that’s going around now…so much going on with so many people…so it was on my heart to do something for families. I decided to do a turkey drive, my very first one, and it was crazy successful...”
