A crowd descended on Plymouth’s Town Council last week to hear about two hastily-arranged lease resolutions for properties where a food bank and a community-based nonprofit were “evicted” by council 16 days earlier.
However, consideration of leases for two Washington Street locations was nipped in the bud when the two agenda items were removed at the start of the meeting with no explanation.
Plymouth’s Assistant Town Manager Dorenda Wallace announced the removal of the items from consideration, suggesting the attorney would provide explanation of the removal. Attorney Arnita Dula, however, offered no explanation, nor did Mayor Brian Roth or council members Crystal Davis, Donsenia Teel, Danny Wobbleton, John Tharps and Mary Ann Byers when asked for the reasoning afterward.
