Roughly 1,000 students return to school in Washington County Monday, August 18, with a new visitor management system, new policies to restrict the presence of cell phones and a renewed instructional focus.

For students, a notable difference is the cell phone policy that is fueled by a new state law that prohibits the display or use of electronic devices in classrooms. Also, Fridays in the new school year are slated as early dismissal days for students, a practice that provides regular opportunities for ongoing training for faculty and staff.
