Tyrrell County Schools welcomed a Washington County legend into its ranks to greet students as they reported back to class last week.

Coach Shawn Walker became the latest member of the Wildcat family, joining the Tyrrell school system as its new Athletic Director and Secondary Health and Physical Education Teacher.

When it comes to the world of sports, Walker is an expert, bringing more than three decades of experience in athletics and education, including a 20-year career as a collegiate head basketball coach.
