A Plymouth High School graduate is the new president and CEO of a Kansas hospital.
Dr. Shelly Kortkamp (nee Styons) took her new post at helm of the 174-bed Lawrence Memorial Hospital (LMH) in Lawrence, Kansas, November 10.
Kortkamp, the daughter of Susan and Sam Styons, graduated from Plymouth High School in 1990, before completing undergraduate study at NC State and adding her medical degree from East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine. She served three years active duty in the US Air Force, serving as a physician leader and earning the Meritorious Service Medal before leaving the military with the rank of major.
According to an LMH Health Board of Trustees release, Kortkamp most recently served as President and Chief Medical Officer at St. Peter’s Health in Helena, Montana, where she led a 123-bed acute care hospital and behavioral health facility...
